Super Series 2024

The new Super Series took place in 2024 allowing females from all clubs the opportunity to participate in all-female competitive cricket. In total 37 females took part in the six fixtures there were a number of close games and the skills on show continued to improve game by game reflected in the increasing totals and wickets taken.

In the final Super Series fixture of the summer the game had a special visitor the Patron of the Isle of Man Cricket Association His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor. His Excellency watched the game and met with coaches, players and spectators. It was a delight to welcome His Excellency to the final Super Series fixture and showcase the growth and talent of the women and girl's game on the Isle of Man.

Great Start to the Female Super Series

The first female Super Series fixtures took place on Sunday 21st April at Peel and St John CC. It was a very closely fought affair with the Rubies (reds) being put into bat and making 128-6. In response the Emeralds (greens) finished on 127-5 falling just 1 run short. Dani Murphy conceding just one run of the final over of the game.

It was a great start to the Super Series in what was a very entertaining and tight game with every player making a contribution with the bat or ball and in the field. The first Super Series fixture saw a range of ages and experience levels competing and playing alongside each other with the aim being for players to gain experience, enjoy the game and grow all female matchplay opportunities. The game saw a number of players make their cricket ball debut making the move from the women's soft ball league and iIt also saw a number of younger players play their first senior fixture.

The next Super Series fixture is on Sunday 19th May and anyone who is interested in playing please email Greig Wright on [email protected]. The Super Series is for any female cricketer aged 13+ who would like to play in a series of IOMCA organised female cricket ball fixtures over the season.

Super Series 2024

During the 2024 season there will be a number of opportunities for females (13 and above) to play in an all female short format ‘hard ball’ cricket matches organised by the Isle of Man Cricket Association (IOMCA).

The growth of the women’s game is a high priority for the IOMCA. At a time when the Isle of Man Women’s National Team is experiencing success, the number of women playing regularly in softball cricket and mixed leagues is growing and the introduction of cricket into the secondary school girls curriculum the timing seems perfect.

These matches are available for any female who wants to play ‘hard ball’ cricket. The fixtures are an opportunity to make the move from soft ball to 'hardball' cricket, to play alongside and gain experience from current international players and coaches and they can also be a platform for players aspiring to be future internationals.

Teams will be balanced by the IOMCA and delegated senior players, to ensure that competition is even and enjoyable for all. National Team squad players will be split between the teams.

The dates for these matches are as follows:
  • Sunday 21st April
  • Sunday 19th May
  • Sunday 16th June
  • Sunday 14th July
  • Sunday 4th August
  • Sunday 1st September

Players do not need to commit to all the fixtures and those wanting to take part in the first game on the 21st April should email [email protected] before Thursday 18th April. Players will need full equipment (for those without please ask your clubs).
